About Elise
Elise Epner, M.A., J.D. LLC, is an extremely successful college admissions consultant with extensive experience in helping students present themselves to colleges. She concentrates her practice in Fairfield County, Connecticut, although she has advised students across the nation. She finds working with teenagers to be an extremely enjoyable adventure.

Elise graduated from Cornell University where she was elected to both Mortar Board and Phi Kappa Phi Honor societies. She earned her Masters degree at The University of Chicago and her law degree cum laude from The University of Pennsylvania where she was Article Editor of the law review.

After working as a litigation attorney with large firms in New Haven and Boston, Elise was appointed a Visiting Assistant Professor at Quinnipiac Law School. Teaching became her passion; she switched from helping corporations obtain damage awards to working with teenagers. She successfully completed Connecticut?s Alternate Route to Certification for professionals seeking career changes and taught high school English and Social Studies in Connecticut public schools.

After years of successes helping teenagers navigate the admissions process, she started full-time consulting professionally. Currently, Elise works with a limited number of students individually each admissions cycle, assisting with their writing, editing, and advocacy skills. She also prepares students for the SAT. She works with selected students, primarily from nearby urban high schools, on a pro bono basis. She is an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.

Elise is a longtime educational advocate with much experience reviewing educational budgets, curriculum, and instructional issues. She has served as an elected town official and Chairperson of the Education Committee of her town?s Representative Meeting. Over the years, Elise has written on educational issues for Connecticut newspapers and has entertained school and community groups with presentations on college admissions topics. For more than twenty years before establishing her consulting practice, she interviewed applicants to her alma mater, Cornell. She is also a veteran of the college admissions process as a parent of her own three older children.
